(10/18/13) The latest word from Cinecitta World confirms that the park should be ready to finally open in mid-2014. The park will include 16 indoor children’s attractions, 3 thrill rides and 19 family attractions according to this article, as well as 7 restaurants, 11 coffee bars and 57 snack stands and merchandise kiosks.
The developers also are planning a Phase 2 project called The Village, which sounds much like a Universal Citywalk style area with shops, restaurants and theaters. Phase 3 and 4 down the line include ideas for a second theme park (tenatively called Cinecitta World 2) and Cinecitta Nature, a 170-acre natural environment accessible to the public, but also intended to be used for TV and film productions.
(9/25/13) According to the Hollywood Reporter the delayed Cinecitta World theme park developers say that they are almost certain that the park will finally open to guests sometime in the first half of 2014.
(8/19/13) ThemeParksItalia has posted a few pictures of a test car pull-through taking place on the park’s 10-inversion Intamin coaster at Cinecitta World shot late last month and some new pictures taken this past week showing off new progress on the park’s Super Splash ride.

(5/13/13) CWFans has posted a new construction update for the new Cinecitta World park in Rome where lots of blue Intamin coaster track is now rising high into the sky. Lots of work to be done at the park however... I don’t see how they will get it open in 2013.
(2/5/13) Another collection of construction pictures from Cinecitta World can be found at CWFans.it. The park was expected to open this summer, but based on the pictures and just how much work is left to be done, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are forced to push back the opening date.

They report the park will have Mack’s biggest SuperSplash ride (522 meters in length) and an Intamin built 10-inversion coaster. Other reported rides include a Dark Ride, LIM Launch Indoor Coaster, Interactive Dark Ride and a Flight Simulator.

(12/30/11) New concept artwork showing off the basic themes to be used in the proposed Cinecitta World theme park can be found here. Cinecitta World was a new theme park / studio concept proposed for an area near Rome, Italy back in 2009 I believe, but I’ve heard little more since then. They do also have an official website, though I’m not sure if it says anything about when the park may open, though back in 2009 they were hoping to have the first phase ready by 2011.
