Park News - (7/8/14) In a very sad story, a teenager died from his injuries after being thrown from the restraints on Inferno, an Intamin ZacSpin coaster at Terra Mitica. The local police are still investigating the accident, but have confirmed that the teenage (possibly 18 years old) suffered a variety of injuries from the fall, but passed away while being transported to a hospital inside an ambulance.
(2/21/12) Despite the news that Terra Mitica laid off a large percentage of its work force, the new owners of the park have promised that the park will not be closing, nor will they cut back on the number of operating attractions. Read more here.
(12/21/11) According to this story the regional government’s 22% ownership stake in Terra Mitica has now been sold off to Aqualandia who has been leasing and running the park since 2010 with an option to buy. Attendance levels are still a prime concern at the park who had already been forced to reduce their workforce. Attendance in 2010 was already down 20% from the year before, at 520,000 guests. The 2011 figures have yet to be released.

2011-2013 - 3 Phase Park Improvements - (8/24/10) The new owners of Terra Mitica have announced plans to spent $15 million Euros over the next 3 years to upgrade the theme park. The first step will be to great new green shade areas in the park, as well as improve some attractions. Phase 2 will be to make an private event area and Phase 3 will see a new entrance built as well as other improvements yet to be decided.
