LOTTE WORLD ADVENTURE Busan, South Korea
New Park - Opened 2022
2026 - Kong X Godzilla The Ride - (7/25/2026) Kong X Godzilla The Ride has now opened at Lotte World Adventure has finally opened, but finding any kind of video footage of it in action has been a bit of a headache. There are lots of videos showing off the queue, a pre-show with an animatronic in a lab, and then jumps to the exit gift shops from the media preview, because apparently shooting any kind of footage on the ride itself was banned. I’ve been fortunate enough to actually have found a full on-ride POV video of the experience, only for it to be taken down from YouTube a short time later before I could post about it. But at least I saw it, and can describe a lot of the action to you, as guests are taken through a dark ride experience on a pair of trackless ride motion-base vehicles. There is a good mock-up of the ride vehicle in the queue itself, so if you jump ahead to the 9:00 - 10:20 timestamp in the video below, you can see the mock-up sitting in the queue and as a schematic on some video displays. Now a bit of a SPOILER ALERT: The ride itself is a bit odd and to be fair, the video I saw did not do it justice at all, as the experience seemed a bit slow moving with what looked to be some pauses or delays in the motion as vehicles ahead were likely stacking-up. I’m a bit fuzzy on the story due to language issues, but it seems like your craft is shot into the Hollow Earth area which is packed full of creatures. The attraction is also properly named Kong X Godzilla, because Kong is the titan you see most in the attraction, as (spoiler alert!) Godzilla doesn’t arrive at all until maybe the last 20% of the experience. Instead you are riding along with Kong most of the time while he battles with some other lizard like Titan, which I believe is “Shimo”, who has ice powers. In fact… I did find a video clip from the attraction of Shimo fighting Kong and later the arrival of Godzilla which I’ll put below that, but there is already a take-down request in the comments, so I don’t know how long it will last. It does at one part the interesting design nature of the ride system itself, which frequently features the trackless ride vehicles traveling down very narrow alleyways with large screens on either side of the pathway. I assume the cars are supposed to turn sideways to follow the action on the screen as they scroll past, but as I said, the footage doesn’t do the ride justice, as I noticed too often the cars would stop in odd positions to the screens as I believe the cars ahead were stacked up preventing proper vehicle movement through some scenes. It’s a new attraction, and a very complicated looking one, so there will be some growth pains of course as they work things out, which is normal for this kind of attraction. It also explains why it likely didn’t open in late 2025 as originally advertised.
(7/14/2026) While the attraction was originally set to open in December 2025, we have received confirmed news that the delayed Kong X Godzilla: The Ride attraction at the Lotte World Adventure park now has a new opening date taking place on July 24th, 2026. This is the first time that Legendary’s Monsterverse will be brought to life as a theme park attraction, designed in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment, Toho Co., Ltd and Sally Dark Rides. “On this thrilling new adventure, riders will board Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles ("HEAVs"), the advanced exploration craft used by MONARCH, the secret human organization at the heart of Legendary's Monsterverse. The attraction features two interconnected eight-passenger ride vehicles that transport guests on an approximately 11-minute adventure through Hollow Earth. Along the way, massive media screens, towering animatronics, dynamic ride motion, and immersive special effects combine to deliver a thrilling, cinematic experience unlike any other.” “Guests become new MONARCH recruits and embark on a high-stakes mission into Hollow Earth. When a sudden volcanic event sends the subterranean world into chaos, Titans run wild, escalating a crisis that threatens to spread beyond Hollow Earth. Recruits must follow Kong into the heart of the danger, help restore balance, and discover how Godzilla factors into a conflict that could threaten the surface world.” “A key feature of KONG X GODZILLA: THE RIDE is its seamless immersion in the Monsterverse from entry to exit. Inspired by the films, where each MONARCH facility carries a unique designation, the attraction is set at MONARCH Outpost M-42, established at a recently discovered Vile Vortex at Lotte World Adventure.” “Before boarding, guests move through MONARCH’s research and maintenance facilities, uncover new intelligence on the Titans, and receive their mission briefing during the pre-show. After the ride, the experience continues with a dedicated photo zone and merchandise shop featuring exclusive KONG X GODZILLA: THE RIDE products.”
It was announced as opening in December 2025, but it seems this did not happen and the opening has been delayed. (5/29/2025) While we still don’t entirely what kind of attraction the new “Kong x Godzilla” ride will be at Lotte World Adventure, Screamscape sources have confirmed to us that Sally Corp is apparently making some animatronic figures for the attraction. In particular, our source has told Screamscape about a large Kong animatronic built from the chest up that was said to be very impressive. We can’t wait to find out more! (5/27/2025) Lotte World Adventure has announced that a new dark ride experience, “Kong X Godzilla The Ride” is coming to the park in December 2025. If anyone knows more about this new attraction, we would love to hear about what kind of ride this might be.
2026 - Giant Revolution / Double Heart Coaster - (5/17/2026) Thanks for a quick Instagram Story, we get a look at the first Zamperla Heart Coaster that now looks to be fully assembled at Lotte World Adventures Busan where it will be named Giant Revolution. The post also mentions that the new Pirates Swingship should have opened this past weekend, and that the park is considering adding either a New Gyro Drop or High-Flying Swing attraction for the 2027 season. So with that in mind, does anyone know if the park ever open Kong X Godzilla The Ride?
(11/18/2025) It was confirmed at IAAPA that the first Double Heart Coaster from Zamperla will be opened at Lotte World Adventure park in Busan in 2026. This will be the 50m version, and not the larger 70m version option.
