New Attraction News - (10/26/16) According to this article the new LEGOLAND Discovery Center going into Philadelphia has broken ground this week inside the Plymouth Meeting Mall. The new attraction is expected to be ready to open by Spring 2017.
(12/9/15) The local news reports that a new LEGOLAND Discovery Center is coming to the greater Philadelphia area at the Plymouth Meeting Mall in 2017, with construction set to begin in Summer of 2016.
It's starting to sound like Merlin may be trying to hit up all the major population centers in the north-east, as another LEGOLAND Discovery Center has already been confirmed to be one of the offerings of the American Dream Meadowlands mall project in New Jersey when it opens in late 2017 (about a 90 minute drive from the Plymouth Meeting Mall site). There are also existing Discovery Centers in Westchester, NY (35 minutes from the American Dream site) and another to the North in Boston, MA as well.
A LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a small indoor LEGO themed parks experience that typically feature a flat ride or two, a fun interactive dark ride, a 4D Theater as well as several interactive areas where kids can play hands on with LEGOs for hours on end.
Currently there are nine open North American locations:
Kansas City, MO
Phoenix, AZ (Spring 2016)
Auburn Hills, MI (Spring 2016)
Philadelphia, PA (2017)
American Dream Meadowlands, NJ (Late 2018)
