 ???? - DC Superhero Expansion - (10/11/2025) While we still don’t know EXACTLY what is coming first to the expansion of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Screamscape sources tell us that the rumored Wonder Woman themed roller coaster is not part of the current project scope for the DC Comics expansion.
It is worth mentioning that rather than have one DC Comics area, the park is home to two different themed lands: the darker Gotham City which is home to the incredible Batman: Knight Flight dark ride (much like the original Harry Potter ride at Universal), as well as the Scarecrow Scare Raid and Riddler Revolution flat rides, as well as The Joker Funhouse and a Rogues Gallery midway games area. Next to the dark streets of Gotham City, you’ll enter the bright cityscape of Metropolis, home to Justice League: Warworld Attacks (kinda like Spider-Man at Universal), the Green Lantern Galactic Odyssey (a 4D flying theater), Superman 360: Battle for Metropolis (a 3D dark ride) and Teen Titans Training Academy ropes course.
So between the two DC Comics themed lands, there really isn’t a true roller coaster attraction at all currently.The all indoor park only currently has two coasters: a Roadrunner / Wile E. Coyote themed Fast and Furry-ous inverted family coaster from Intamin and the Tom & Jerry themed Swiss Cheese Spin spinning coaster from Zamperla.
So from the sound of things, this expansion may finally bring a more grown-up style thrill coaster to the park as part of an expansion of their DC Comics offering. The question is, will this be an entirely new themed “land” beyond Gotham and Metropolis, or an expansion of one of the existing lands. Screamscape’s own sources indicate that the new attraction may be linked to the Superman set of characters, but since Superman is already present in the park in a couple of existing attractions, it does make me feel like we could see this attraction themed to Superboy or perhaps Supergirl instead. My gut says that Supergirl may very likely be part of the project, simply because there is a Supergirl feature film set to hit theaters in Mid 2026, putting the character in the global spotlight, along with Krypto in the James Gunn rebooted “DC Universe” projects.
Oh, and having just completed Season 2 of Peacemaker on HBO Max, other DC characters set to be pushed into the more cinematic spotlight over the next couple of years also includes a second Superman movie in 2027 (Man of Tomorrow), a dedicated film about the Batman villain, Clayface in late 2026 (Currently filming), Lanterns (an 8-episode series for HBO Max in early to mid 2026 which will mix Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner character with the more well known Lanterns (John Stewart and Hal Jordan).
(10/9/2025) Clearing and construction has begun outside of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi for what appears to be a DC Superhero themed expansion project. I know previously the park also mentioned that a Harry Potter themed expansion was also on the way, but the signs on the construction walls state that they are “Preparing For a Heroic Arrival’ along with the DC Comics logo. Rumor is that at least one of these new attractions coming here will be a roller coaster and an article posted to Forbes believes it just may have a Wonder Woman theme as well.
Time will tell, so stay tuned!
???? - Harry Potter Attraction - (7/30/2025) You may recall that long before the Disney / Abu Dhabi announcement, Miral has confirmed that a Harry Potter themed expansion was in the works for the existing Warner Bros. World theme park. According to Meed.com, Miral has just extended their bid submission deadline until August 4th for construction projects related to the Harry Potter expansion.
While we don’t know exactly the form this will take the article does confirm that this Phase 2 expansion of Warner Bros World will add an additional 40,000 square meters of space to the existing theme park, which will include the new Harry Potter themed area that will feature “three new rides, retail outlets, and food and beverage facilities.”
(5/1/2025) According to this article about attraction growth at Yas Island, they say that two new attractions are coming to the Warner Bros. World attraction that they describe as “signature rides”. There are also plans in the works to expand the Warner Bros themed hotel nearby as well as the annual attendance for the attractions continues to grow.
If I had to guess, the new attractions will likely be part of the previously announced “Harry Potter” themed expansion of the park that was first announced back in 2022. This would work out for timing as well, as filming for the new Harry Potter streaming series on MAX is expected to begin before the end of this year.
(11/13/22) Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is now working on plans to open the indoor theme park’s first expansion, which will be themed to the Harry Potter films. Unlike all the existing themed lands and attractions in the park that are based around animated or comic book IPs, this will be the park’s first attraction based entirely around a live action Warner Bros. film series. Miral has not announced an opening date for the new land yet, or any further details about what kind of attraction or ride will be part of the experience. What we do know is that it wont be anything like what we’ve already seen built at any of the Universal theme parks, and will have to be something completely unique to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
